Philip Jeffries
Hello my friends. I was born in October 1974 to Jim and Betty Jeffries, the sixth out of seven children and loved growing up with such a big family! My Dad, Jim Jeffries was the academic dean of Lexington Baptist College for many years and the pastor of several churches through his life. My mother was the daughter of Howard Meece, who was the pastor of Winton Place Baptist Church in the 1950’s.
I absolutely love to play and hear music exalting and honoring our Lord and Savior, the splendid art of creation (beholding on canvas or with the eye or wrapping my head around God’s physics). I love teaching what I have learned and enjoy the lives God has placed in my life.
My wife’s name is April and we have been married since 1996 and every day she is a testimony to me of the grace of God in blessing me with someone as beautiful inside and out as her. Together we have three children Mary Anna, Emily & Jason with all three very beautiful blessings and helpers of their Mother and I through life and the ministry.
The Ministry
In 2003 I was called to preach by our gracious Lord and in 2009 I was ordained to the gospel ministry by Lexington Bethel Baptist Church, where I served in several roles as the pastor, assistant pastor & song leader. Shortly after being called to preach, I went to school at John Leland Baptist College and recently received my Masters of Religious Education in Theological Studies at New Covenant College in 2021. In April 2022, Meadowthorpe Baptist Church invited me to come preach and fill-in while they sought a pastor and the Lord exploded mine and their hearts with great certainty that this was the place God wanted me to be!
It has been an honor of mine to pastor such loving people who have extended their hearts out to me and my family with such embrace! April and I look forward to many more years to come – by His will!
